Cashmere wool is a noble fiber.

Cashmere combines the benefits of wool and the softness of silk. It regulates temperature, has high breathability, controls humidity and offers resistance to odours.

This fiber is known to all of us as a luxury product, and there’s a reason for that. Unlike merino wool, cashmere wool is extremely rare. Its ultra-fine fiber is actually the incredibly soft undercoat around the neck of a Cashmere goat (breed). Each goat produces a very small amount of usable cashmere wool each year, and products made from cashmere can be up to 8 times hotter than products made from sheep’s wool.

In addition, this fiber is extremely soft to the touch and therefore incredibly comfortable. So while merino wool is much more durable and elastic, it simply cannot be compared to the softness and lightness of cashmere wool.
